SOLOIL 173-3 Special - Water Displacing Oil

solvent based, liquid product designed for protecting ferrous metal surfaces from corrosion

used where water or saline solutions must be displaced from corrodible surfaces


Its solvent system acts to penetrate the interior surfaces of machinery and instruments to protect critical bare steel or phosphated surfaces, and can be used for protection of subsequently welded steel parts (after all solvent dries).

OPERATING DATA:
Equipment: Mild steel immersion tanks. (Also see Alternate Usage)
Concentration: Use at full strength.
Temperature: Use at ambient temperatures.
Usage:
Immerse parts in SOLOIL 173-3 and allow the solvent to penetrate for about 1 minute.  Withdraw the parts at the rate of approximately 4 inches per minute.  Air dry.

Alternate Usage: Apply SOLOIL 173-3 with a paint brush or a spray bottle.

SAFETY FACTORS:
SOLOIL 173-3 contains solvent which is combustible.  Avoid open flames, sparks, hot surfaces and high energy sources.  Use only with adequate ventilation.  In case of eye or skin contact, flush with water for at least 15 minutes.  If eye irritation persists, get medical attention.

SOLOIL 173-3 meets the requirements of MIL-C-16173E Grade 3 and 4, Class 1. SOLOIL 173-3 is good for 1-2 years of indoor storage protection (temperature and humidity controlled environment), when applied as directed to all surfaces to be protected.
